The Magic of Angkor Wat

One of the world’s most beautiful destinations is Angkor Wat, “the Pagoda of the City” in Angkor, Cambodia. Once a funerary monument built by a vast army of slaves, builders and craftsmen who labored to quarry, transport and haul the stone into place and create the numerous statues and carvings adorning almost every inch of the complex, Angkor Wat now stands a surreal testament to a once-superior civilization who enjoyed a palpable appreciation for art.

Sleepwalking Through Your Life?

Here's How Mindfulness Can Help

Have you ever sat down to watch TV with a bowl of popcorn on your lap, then suddenly realized twenty minutes later the bowl was empty? Have you ever driven somewhere and arrived safely, only to realize you didn’t really remember the trip?

The Compass helped me make the best art of my career

When I first heard about the upcoming movie, “The Compass” from Marilyn Sargent, one of the film’s experts, a powerful picture of a group of paintings danced across my mind. While the picture was fleeting, the emotional charge remained. Experience has taught me to trust my subconscious visions but at the time my art was stagnant… I was without the faith needed to nurture those visions from the spiritual realm to the physical. I’d been seriously thinking of putting down my brushes and closing my studio doors forever. And yet, I kept quizzing Marilyn to tell me more about the movie – what was it about?

Aha! The concept was right up my alley because my work has always been about adventure and the personal and collective journey. At last, I was motivated! The supreme challenge lay ahead, however: How could I show a linear idea of moving steadily toward a higher place and work spontaneously and abstractly, as I always do?

How I Got My Compass Back - Golf, Life, and Work, The Similarities

HI Everyone;

I found my compass again; LITERALLY

This may be a bit lengthy, but you will see the correlation for getting my compass back and golf in a bit. Just bear with me. Onward and upward with my story

I have been recently reminded not once, not twice, but three times at the importance of "sharpening my saw" and finding my compass.

In the first compass instance, My sister had recently sent me a card saying " Always make time to do the things you Love" on the inside it said "Thanks Dad, for teaching me what really matters". It sits on my desk in a frame. Her side and unattached note said, "My sending cards and such is what really matters to me. It's one of the things I love to do. It keeps me connected to you." Nothing else was written other than a heart and here initial. One side note here...there is a golf bag and clubs on the front of the card. I am sure you see the correlation of what our dad taught us.

This was the second compass instance.

What is your definition of success?

It seems all (or most) of us want it. Yet, we each have our own definition. What do you feel are the essential elements that YOU want/need? What do you think ALL of us should have to be successful?

Thanks
